About Butler PPD

Butler Public Power Districts mission statement:  We will provide safe, low cost, reliable, excellent electric service to our customers and be actively involved in the areas we serve. 

Butler PPD was organized on April 7, 1937. We serve approximately 6,400 customers in rural Butler and Saunders counties, and the villages of Abie, Bellwood, Bruno, Dwight, Garrison, Linwood, Loma, Malmo, Octavia, Rising City, Surprise, Touhy, Ulysses and Valparaiso. We have approximately 1,700 miles of line, 1,020 irrigation services, and 780 wells on control. Our total well horsepower is 50,581 and horsepower controlled is 46,807.
